THE DAY THREE KINGS FROM  NAMIBIA VISITED UGANDA

On the 19th May 2025 a Royal Namibian delegation visited the Kasubi Tombs and the Busoga Kingdom in eastern Uganda, engaging with traditional leadership and cultural institutions at the Kyabazinga’s Palace in Igenge, Jinja City, as part of a Ugandan government-endorsed initiative on cultural governance.

The Esteemed guests included Fillemon Nangolo, King of Ondonga; Gaseb Immanuel, leader of the Oe-ǂGan Traditional Authority; and Sam Kambadzembi, Chief of the Kambazembi Traditional Authority.

The Namibian kings delegation aimed to learn from Busoga’s cultural administration, educational strategies, and traditional leadership integration in national development to enhance socio-economic advancement and unity among African communities.

The visit included high-level interactions, a welcoming ceremony with Busoga’s Second Deputy Prime Minister Osman Noor Ahmed, and discussions on cultural and educational development led by Uganda’s Ambassador to Namibia, Prince Joseph Ndawula.

Gaseb Immanuel, the leader of the Oe-ǂGan Traditional Authority in Namibia emphasized pan-African unity, revitalizing Africa’s cultural heritage, and collaboration among African monarchs while expressing gratitude for hospitality and productive dialogues during his visit.

This historic visit strengthens cultural ties between Namibia and Uganda, highlighting regional cooperation in preserving Africa’s heritages and reflecting Uganda’s role as a model of cultural governance.
