On expiry of lease, the lessee will need the following requirements for a lease renewal.

To renew a lease, several requirements must be fulfilled as part of the process. Initially, an application letter must be submitted to the Chief Executive Officer of the Buganda Land Board at the postal address P.O. BOX 14205, Kampala, specifically requesting a lease extension.

Additionally, a photocopy of the Certificate of Title pertaining to the expired lease must be provided. A photograph depicting the current state of the building or development on the plot for which the extension is sought is also necessary, irrespective of its current phase.

Moreover, a payment of 90,000 Uganda Shillings is required to cover the application, inspection, and processing of the extension request.

A directional sketch map must be prepared, accurately indicating the location of the plot for which the lease extension is sought. Finally, if not already on file, two passport-sized photographs of the applicant are required to complete the submission.
